Dear Creve Coeur Neighbors
and Friends,
As we start the new year, I want to share some very exciting news. It is my intention to run for Mayor of the City of Creve Coeur. The election will be held in April 2012, when the term of our current Mayor expires.
While this election is well over a year away, I am starting my campaign now, so that I can personally meet, talk and listen to as many residents in our community as possible. I will walk every neighborhood, and hold regularly scheduled town-hall meetings with the hope that our citizens will take these opportunities to get to know me as well.
I have lived in Creve Coeur for almost my entire life. My wife Sheri and I have continued that tradition with our three children (Evan–20, Corey–18 and Marissa–13) because Creve Coeur is such a wonderful community in which to raise a family. My architectural office is also located here, and I am proud that many of the homes and neighborhoods that my company designs have also become an integral part of our vibrant city.
From 1992 – 2000, I was elected to four terms, and served as a member of the Creve Coeur City Council. I currently serve on the Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission, since my appointment in 2002.
The role of our Mayor is to be a strong, positive advocate for the City of Creve Coeur, and with your support, I intend to fulfill that role.
It is essential that the City maintain strict fiscal responsibility while providing a safe, secure, and productive environment – always striving to maintain or improve the very high level of services and quality of life for all of our citizens.
A community’s leadership is so often reflective of its overall climate. As Mayor, I will encourage open and transparent dialogue – but will not tolerate a toxic environment within the City of Creve Coeur. Any interaction with our City should be a positive experience.
I am humbled by the encouragement and support that I have already received from so many people, and would be honored if you would join me in this endeavor.
A positive environment starts with positive leadership !
Sincerely,
Barry L. Glantz
